Hey everyone, Rachel here, with a very special story about one of our 2021 couples Becca & Kara. I don’t know about anyone else but when I started realizing what love was it was always described to me as colors being brighter, food tasting better, the world around you coming to life, etc..
I have to tell you while getting to know these ladies love story, it seems that is exactly what they’ve found. For eight years, they have fallen in love over and over again while having many nights out, home cooked meals, long weekends away, and time just spent .. talking. Both Becca and Kara told me that the best part about loving the other is how hard they make each other laugh. I know that we can all appreciate those moments when your belly hurts because of the silly, simple, remark that your partner made at the perfect time.
Becca could not tell me enough about how warm, genuine, and caring Kara is. Not only does she care deeply for Becca but for every person in her life, for people in general. She is devoted to constantly seeking skills and knowledge to make her better in her work. And ‘when Kara loves something, she loves it BIG’ Becca says. ‘She really throws her whole self into the things she cares about and into sharing them with others.’
Kara says she knew quite quickly that Becca would be a significant person in her life. She loves that Becca is clever, witty, and curious. She described her love as magnetic saying ‘She got me right away! And she has a mysterious and intriguing presence that makes you curious and want to know more about her.’
When reading about their engagement story I can only quote Kara and say “Oh my god. Oh my god, holy moly, just total WOW.”
Kara’s birthday is in late January and Becca explained that they try to do something exciting before the slow winter months come. So they flew to one of their favorite places together, Paris!
Becca is an incredible travel planner and had a packed itinerary enjoying numerous places around ‘their’ city. On this particular day they had finished a light lunch at Le Bistro des Augustins, a cozy spot they love on the Seine and had a little extra time in the schedule. They decided to walk to the Louvre over the Pont des Arts bridge. This is the part of the romantic comedy where they would show you all of the cool street performers and the perfect backdrop for Becca to stop Kara and give her the most perfect and beautiful speech to explain her love and ask her “Marry me?” And of course, Kara said ‘Yes!’
Kara says “The speech was perfect and honest and real and at the end she asked me to marry her and presented the most PERFECT diamond ring, exactly what I had wanted. That’s pretty much the theme with her, exactly what I had wanted.“
We are so excited to celebrate Becca and Kara this year as they say ‘I do’ to forever at Saltwater Farm Vineyard!
