This past winter I started working with Suzanne and Conor for their August 2018 Le Chateau wedding. From the initial call I was hopeful they would hire me as their wedding planner because I just loved Suzanne’s vibe and how she talked about her friends, family and most importantly how she described her and Conor’s relationship. Lucky enough she felt the same and so I got to chat with Conor and they chose to work with me!
They chose Le Chateau in South Salem, NY to be the backdrop for their special day. As soon as I saw the pictures I was blown away by the details of this dreamy location. The windows are floor to ceiling in the ballroom with gorgeous chandeliers in every direction. On my first walk through with them, I could immediately imagine their day.
Suzanne and Conor had many details already in place, but they were looking for an amazing band to work with and after they saw a great band play at another event they attended. I asked Suzanne and Conor multiple questions about style, budget and the feeling they wanted to present on their day. I felt the best match for their needs by far was The Metropolitan Players that are out of New York. I have had the pleasure of working with them for other wedding’s and events. They are young, fresh and know how to start a party but, also how to keep the dance floor packed!
As the big day approached we worked to get all logistics in order including speaking with each vendor to make sure their needs were met as well as our couples for the highly anticipated wedding day! Weekly calls with Suzanne included funny one liners from Conor as he made dinner in the background. Many times, I burst out laughing while Suzanne and I tried to stay focused.
The week of the wedding arrived, and I headed up to Stamford to meet our happy couple along with their friends and family. The weather couldn’t have been any more perfect Thursday and Friday for their guests. I remember arriving at Suzanne’s mother’s home and was greeted by multiple friendly weddings vendors to check in on how everything was going. Everything was running smoothly and we were all ready for the big day.
As we headed to the venue the sun was shining and I knew it would just be such a special day. Suzanne and Conor exchanged gifts, his gift was a trip to London! I remember Suzanne asking me to go find out when they were going as she screamed how excited she was to go!
The entire night was one for the books. A gorgeous outdoor ceremony surrounded by friends and family and the cutest ring bearer and flower girl! As we transitioned inside for the cocktail hour and reception, guests were wowed by the architecture of each room. As guests entered the ballroom, I heard a lot of WOWS! It was breathtaking! The tall centerpieces created by Dramatic Innovation stole the show. I also loved the little details like the luggage tags which served as escort cards. Suzanne and Conor love to travel and have been on many adventures together.
As the band began to play guests flooded the dance floor and they kept the party going till the end of the night! One last touch that I loved was the late-night snacks presented to guests including macrons, mini deep-dish pizzas and more.
At the end of the night Suzanne said so this is goodbye? And my response was NO! You better keep in touch! I get so sad after creating such fun relationships with my clients to say goodbye. I look forward to seeing updates on your travels together Suzanne and Conor!
