Meet the blogging team!

LAUREN + RACHEL

Couples put so much thought into the place, date, and time of their wedding, but often overlook the importance of the person actually conducting their wedding ceremony. Who you choose to officiate your wedding will be one of the most personal and special decisions of your day. You want to feel fully comfortable and know that you can count on them to help finalize the details, share your vision, and really personalize your ceremony. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce you to an amazing Justice of the Peace that we’ve had the pleasure of working with, Bridget Caviness. We hope you enjoy getting to know her!

  1. Why did you get in this business?

My husband and I hired a Justice of the Peace to marry us over twelve years ago.  At the time, we didn’t really put too much thought into it.  We needed a person to marry us and although she was nice, her ceremony was very cookie cutter and lacked the personality of who we were.  I felt like something was just missing, you know?  And then one day it dawned on me I thought, why couldn’t I do that?  So, I became a Justice of the Peace and my first wedding I officiated was for my brother in law and his now wife.  The rest is history.

  1. What do you love most about this industry?

What’s not to love!  Isn’t LOVE simply fantastic?  I’ve been blessed to partner with some amazing vendors, Nightingale Events being one of my favorites, over the past several years with the sole purpose of making a couple’s special day simply amazing.  What better job than to be a part of a lifetime memory of one of the happiest days of your client’s life.

  1. What is your ideal client?

Hmmmm… that’s a good one.  A couple that is trusts me with their story, their special moment in time and who wants to laugh as well as cry – tears of happiness of course – during their ceremony.

  1. What venues do you like to work at?

Every venue and each location is special in its own special way.  I have been lucky to officiate at many and they all have been fabulous in their own unique way.  Though I have to say, my favorite summertime venues have air conditioning.  Lol.

  1. Why do you feel people should hire you?

Many couples I have been blessed to officiate for wished for a wedding ceremony that reflected both the special relationship they shared with each other and with their family and friends. Even more than that, a ceremony that can touch the heart and spirit of each person present, creating a special moment in time for both the couple and their guests.  And, that is what I can do for them.

  1. What are your favorite places to travel?

With small kids who play year round sports, my dream travel adventures are on the back burner for now, but Italy and Ireland are on my bucket list.  In the meantime, I visit Italy and Ireland at DisneyWorld’s Epcot and in museums and pubs close by.

  1. Favorite TV show and dessert?

I love watching sports.  I am definitely a team player, aka couch warmer or occasional kitchen pacer.  I enjoy watching each teammate support each on the field and have been known to yell at a referee, or in this case the television, from time to time too.  Lol.  I also recently just started watching Stranger Things … shhhhh!  Don’t tell me!  I am only on season one.

Desserts …. Mmmmmmm, anything and everything. I am a fan of any and all of them.

  1. Why would you say having a planner is important?

A planner is a must.  Planning a wedding has so many moving parts from budget to vision to the actual event.  Not only do planners help with your budget constraints, the perfect vendor team and legal contracts, they are there to make sure your vision comes to life, are solely focused only on your special day, and will push to make sure everything goes according to your unique plan and timeline.

  1. What do you like about working with Nightingale Events?

Ok, I will share a bit more than the blanket statement of because THEY ARE SIMPLY AMAZING. Ha ha.  Over the past several years working with Lisa and her team, I have witnessed how they treat every wedding like it was a family member or friend’s wedding.  Each and every event is important to them.  I have witnessed Lisa handle so many things behind the scenes that their couple’s don’t even realize are happening.  From rainstorms to broken zippers to uninvited guests, Lisa ensures that everything runs calmly and smoothly without skipping a beat and always with a smile …and as the actress Sophie Turner says, “and that’s the tea”.
